NO TOLL INCREASE ON THE TACOMA NARROWS BRIDGE

The State Transportation Commission convened this afternoon to set toll rates on the Tacoma Narrows Bridge to take effect on July 1, 2010. Based on a review of the financial analysis and adamant input from the users of the facility, the Commission announced that there would be no increase in the current toll rates on the Tacoma Narrows Bridge which will set the rates again at $2.75 for a transponder transaction and $4.00 if you pay manually at the toll booths.

I want to thank those of you that appeared at the public meeting in Gig Harbor last month as well as those who have put pressure on the Commission through e-mails, letters and phone calls. They got the message and heard us loud and clear. CONGRATULATIONS!
